Population Pierce: Inspired by the Jabbawockeez

First year student, Jacob "Nalu" Bauman, 18, Electronics major, dances in "The Hut" in Pierce College campus on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016 in Woodland Hills, Calif. "I started dancing when I was a little kid because I grew up in a Hawaiian culture. I danced when I was in 3rd grade but stopped because I wasn't good. Then in sophomore year I picked up dancing again when I saw the Jabbawockeez perform on MTV, got more into it in junior year and it wasn't until senior year that I knew dancing was my passion. Most of the dances I know, I've self-taught myself. The style of dance I prefer is Pop and Lock because there's so much body control you must do and because you can make your body look unreal. I like being surprising. In the future, I see myself on the stage of World of Dance because it's one of the best dancing competitions. That's the place where I want to get as a dancer, win, and get recognized more". Photo: Laura Chen
