A loss to Glendale Community College tipped-off the 2016-17 men’s basketball season on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 71-69.
After starting out flat the Brahmas stepped up the intensity, leading by as much as 13 early in the second half.
Pierce’s youth on the court showed down the stretch as Glendale clawed back to take the lead with six minutes left.
The teams swapped the lead seven times in those final six minutes, ending with Glendale sinking two free throws with 7 seconds on the clock.
“When they were down 13 our inexperience showed and we couldn’t hold on,” coach Charles White said. “But going forward I think we’ll do a good job getting ready for East LA. We have time to go fix some stuff, and everything we did is fixable.”
