The Brahmas fell to the Fresno City College Rams in straight sets at the state championship game 25-20, 25-23 and 26-24.
This is the second consecutive year Pierce has lost in the title game.
Pierce went up against a Rams team that had upset the No. 1 team in the state, Grossmont College, to get to the title game, and with this victory took out the top two teams in the state to claim the title.
“They’re a very good team, plain and simple,” head coach Nabil Mardini said. “We tried different things but couldn’t break them.”
