After a year and a half, the Pierce College Student Health Center reopened Monday for in-person services, including mental health and family planning.
SHC assistant Loralyn Frederick said that she’s excited to be back on campus and have face-to-face interactions again.
“We’re excited to see [the students] and welcome them,” Frederick said. “We’re here for them through phone, through email. We’re available.”
While the center has reopened, Frederick said that they are going to continue having virtual services in addition to the in-person services.
According to an informational flyer sent by Frederick, the services are available for students who are enrolled during the summer semester.
“It’s a soft opening so we can be ready for fall,” Frederick said.
Frederick said that the services are by appointment only, which students can arrange by calling the center’s phone number at (818)-710-4270. She also said that same-day appointments are available from Monday to Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wednesday to Thursday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
