Flyers threatening to harm individuals of a certain ethnicity were found posted around the Pierce College Performing Arts Building.

The flyers included photos of students with a certain ethnicity and racially motivated threats, according to the Clery Timely Warning released by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.

Interim President Ara Aguiar wrote in an email that as a result, there will be an increased presence of the LASD on campus.

“Being discriminated against because of one’s identity is a violation of our human rights and will not be tolerated,” Aguiar wrote. “Individuals found to be responsible will be held accountable for behavior that disrupts our community and violates our values.”

Information about the suspect is still unknown.

The LASD said that those with information about the incident should contact Detective Ramos at (323) 669-7562.
