Students from community colleges such as Pierce took part in various competitions at the conference, including audio, copy editing, social media and video story categories.
Anessa Bailon assisted Pierce in one of the competitions that the staff took on. Bailon is a student at San Francisco State University. She attended the ACP 2023 Conference and worked a booth to promote the bilingual journalism degree offered at SF State.
