Pierce College is doing well with having established partnerships with four-year universities, but it can expand to ensure better transfer rates and student success.
Field trips to universities are hosted by American River College, and Pierce should have more excursions to multiple four-year colleges.
Touring universities is beneficial for students.
“If you have the opportunity to visit your student’s top choice schools, that can give them an opportunity to meet the admissions staff, ask questions, and learn more about the school so they can make a well-informed decision,” according to CampusESP.
Students can obtain the answers they are looking for while exploring a university.
“A college visit is an ideal time to get answers to important questions. With access to students, financial aid and admissions staff, and faculty members, you can learn more about class sizes, campus life, and details about applying and scholarships,” according to highpoint edu.
Pierce can adapt to what Pasadena City College is doing and have a larger variety of university partnerships that provide more options for the students.
“By signing a TAG/TAA you will guarantee admission to one of the eleven colleges or universities that has an agreement with PCC,” according to the PCC website.
Transfer students make up for a solid percentage of graduation rates from University of California and California State University systems.
“California Community Colleges have a strong record of benefiting our students and the communities we serve, 28 percent of University of California graduates and 55 percent of California State University graduates transfer from a community college,” according to Citrus College.
Pierce should have a multitude of options for the students when deciding what university they want to attend.
