Powwow at Pierce:

Pierce College will be hosting its first Powwow at the Equestrian Center on June 22, 2024. The event opens with Gourd Dancing at 11 a.m., Grand Entry at 1 p.m. and closing at 8 p.m. 

The event is sponsored by Seamless Transfer of Ethnic Studies Grant, Pierce College Guided Pathways and American Indian Studies. 


Summer sessions:

The summer 2024 session begins on Monday, June 10, according to lapc.edu

Session A is from June 10 to July 14, Session B from July 15 to Aug. 18 and eight-week classes from June 10 to Aug. 4. The last days to enroll in classes with a permission number are June 12, July 17 and June 17, respectively.


Juneteenth event:

Zawadi Cultural Collective and Umoja at Pierce College will be presenting the 7th Annual Juneteenth Community Celebration at Rocky Young Park on the Pierce campus on June 15 from 1 to 6 p.m., according to Eventbrite.

The event will include music, food, vendors and awards.
