Graduation decorations packed the walls where the Dream Resource Center (DRC) held an end-of-year celebration in the Library and Learning Crossroads last Wednesday.
The event was held to celebrate all graduates part of the DRC, and caps and food were also provided to the students.
“Our program supports undocumented students’ success, and we just want to celebrate their achievements,” DRC Lead D’arcy Corwin said. “We still want to celebrate everyone’s hard work. That’s part of our program and this is a fun time.”
Communication major Marcelo Asan Ortiz came to support the DRC event.
“I’m here to support the DRC community, the dreamers and the family we have here,” Ortiz said.
Ortiz said his culture was the inspiration behind designing his cap.
“I’m an Ecuadorian-born child, so I wanted to do the LWO, which stands for Latino World Order, as support for the Latino community,” Ortiz said.
For biology major Bryan Perez-Bado, his friends and memories inspired his cap design.
“I’m thinking of doing a mosaic of just my friends and people here at the DRC,” Perez-Bado said. “Really just trying to capture the moments we’ve all shared together.”
