The Los Angeles Community College District’s Board of Trustees has a current schedule set in place to select an new Pierce College president by July 1, 2010.
The district is selecting a search firm to advertise for the position.
According to Tom Rosdahl, president on the Academic Senate, applicants nationwide will submit their applications and resumes to the district committee board.
The district committee board members consist of: two Pierce College Academic senate members, two members of American Federation of Teachers, five administrators (which may consist of members from Pierce College and/or neighboring colleges) and a president from another college.
According to Rosdahl, the process to selecting a new is as follows:
- The committee board will then select the top three candidates.
- Those candidates will then be looked over and interviewed by the district chancellor.
- The chancellor will then select their top candidate.
- Then send that candidate to the district Board of Trustees.
