PCC meeting Sep. 29 Blurb

During the Pierce College Council (PCC) meeting in the College Services building today at 2:30 p.m., it was admitted that the construction on the Mall will not be completed when expected.

David Tsao, college project manager for Swinerton Inc., the construction company contracted at Pierce, said, “due to some unforeseen underground situation, opening [of the mall] is going to be pushed closer to Thanksgiving.”

Also discussed in the meeting was the construction of the new Theater Arts building.

Joseph Sion of Steinberg Architects presented a slide show depicting the design for the new Theater Arts building scheduled for construction in March 2011. It is expected to take nine months for the modernized building to be completed.

 A motion for new CopyTech Equipment, that will cost an estimated $635,867 for five years, was passed by the PCC. Pierce College President Kathleen Burke-Kelly is expected to approve the recommendation.

And ASO announced a blood drive on Wednesday in the Great Hall.
