“We do not have Thanksgiving in Cuba. I mean, it is an American holiday. We started to celebrate Thanksgiving. The difference is that turkey is not necessarily as traditional for us. So, my family cooked the turkey differently than the way Americans cook turkey. When we first immigrated, we would have turkey but we would have turkey with rice and beans.”
