With the scariest holiday of the year here, we are bombarded with many choices on where to go to get the life scared out of us.The most obvious choice would be one of three Southern California theme parks offering a Halloween event. But which one to chose?Choose the best — Knott’s Berry Farm’s Halloween Haunt in Buena Park. Because as they say, “Everyone has to go sometime.”Knott’s offers thrilling rides, 13 terrifying mazes, seven shows, four scare zones and 1,000 roaming monsters waiting to scare their victims. This is the perfect Halloween event to attend with your significant other or a group of friends. All the mazes stay true to their themes, making their visitors paranoid about what is coming around the next corner. The scariest maze of the night is The Grudge 2. You may have thought the movie was frightening, but you haven’t seen anything if you haven’t walked through the black-hair-covered walls and had those creepy girls reach out to you as you passed them by.Another maze that will have you screaming is The Asylum, a maze full of demented patients, doctors and guards whose only purpose is to torment you on your trip through their home. These crazy patients are in chains behind plate-glass walls, and as you walk past them, they run towards the glass, crashing into it and making you jump in fright. Those who are not behind the glass are sitting in the corners, reaching out to grab you.All anyone wants to do is run and escape this horrific maze. For a little more thrill than ride, the Timber Mountain Log Ride has been turned into Pyromaniax, “a water ride with a twist.”As you sit in your log and tour the mountainside, which has been turned into a town full of murderous mutants, you pass through pitch-dark areas where these mutants pop out of nowhere.Knott’s has been hosting their Halloween event for 35 years. They were the world’s first, largest and most well-known theme park in doing an event this big, according to the Knott’s Web site. If you want to go and experience the best night of your life, the Halloween Haunt runs for 27 nights, ending tonight. This event is not recommended for children under 13 years, as it may be too scary for them. You can purchase tickets online, at Ticketmaster or at the park.
