Men’s volleyball setter resigns to focus on studies
The men’s volleyball team at Pierce College lost their starting setter and now they are working hard to step up their game. Sia Irilian, 18, who had been playing volleyball for nine years and was the starting setter for the Brahmas, quit after their March 12 game against Moorpark College.

‘Leatherheads’ an all-around hit
Sports fans looking for a real history lesson may feel a bit left out, but “Leatherheads” provides a ton of entertainment. George Clooney directs the movie and stars as an aging pro football player named Dodge Connelly, who spearheads the Duluth Bulldogs. While it appears the pro football circuit is floundering and soon to fold, college football is thriving.
‘The Ruins’ as bad as it sounds
“The Ruins” brought in $7.8 million to the box office since its release on April 4, which seems to be too high of a number – considering its failure to attract any sort of attention from the audience. The predictable plot of the film, directed by Carter Smith, includes a group of friends on a fun-filled vacation in Mexico.

This is an everyday encounter for those who follow the art of parkour. Alex “Ace” Scott has been studying and practicing parkour – a style of urban obstacle coursing – for a little over four years.
ASO ditches trailer, moves into building
The Associated Students Organization is packing its bags and moving into the old Bookstore/Business office, which has been completely gutted and newly renovated. The office is one of the original buildings constructed on campus. More than 50 years later, the building has been stripped down to just the exterior walls.
