As the flowers begin to bloom and springtime brings beautiful weather, Pierce College dancers will also contribute with an event that will make everyone appreciate new beginnings. The Annual Spring Dance Concert an opportunity that is brought back every year for everyone to experience a different type of art.

Angry Angelenos in good old-fashioned fist-fight
The first of March was a breezy, gray day in the San Fernando Valley, one of those days that force Angelenos to wear the winter outfits we keep in our closets to use for only two months out of a year. Maybe the increasingly angry El Niño phenomenon will change that.
Am I a really becoming a senior citizen at 25?
My head hung low beneath the bill of my baseball cap as I tried to disguise my hangover from the night before. Slumped deep into the concave-shaped chair intricately placed in the back of my 11 a.m. journalism class, I started to feel the consequences of my actions in my stomach.
Board of trustees election signs removed:
Paul Neiman, director of college facilities, removes campaign placards for Los Angeles Community College District Board of Trustees hopeful Jozef Thomas Essavi at the Winnetka Avenue entrance to Pierce College yesterday morning, Election Day. College officials contacted the candidate the previous day and asked that he remove the signs.

March 2, 2007 Roundup While I am a champion of Freedom of the Press, I was greatly distressed at the tone of your editorial under Viewpoints, on the current state of the campus, in the Feb. 28 issue of The Roundup. We are all aware of the many problems and difficulties that exist right now, but I feel the general tone was overly negative and mean-spirited.
Spiking for Number 1
The Pierce College men’s volleyball team is at a current 3-2 standing with a goal to win the state championship. First year head coach Eddie Stanislawski hopes to lead them there. Since Long Beach City College went undefeated and took the state championship last season, they are still the ones to beat.
Free HPV vaccines free for 18 and younger
As school begins, female students under the age of 18 have another chance to protect themselves against four types of Human Papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted disease. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recently licensed a new HPV vaccine that is highly recommended for women ages 11 to 26.
Astronomy sets to reach for the stars
Stars, galaxies, meteoroids and jet propulsion all sound like lingo from a “Star Wars” movie, but what do these terms have to do with Pierce College? The Pierce College Astronomy Society (PCAS,) is open to all students and community members who want to learn more about these words.
The writing’s on the stalls
“Always keep your head up. Take a risk and get your heart broken. Love if they love you the same. If not, let go and don’t look back. Be proud of yourself everyday.” This was one of the many inspiring messages written on the stall of one women’s restroom at Pierce College.
