The Pierce College men’s volleyball team is at a current 3-2 standing with a goal to win the state championship. First year head coach Eddie Stanislawski hopes to lead them there. Since Long Beach City College went undefeated and took the state championship last season, they are still the ones to beat.

March 2, 2007 Roundup While I am a champion of Freedom of the Press, I was greatly distressed at the tone of your editorial under Viewpoints, on the current state of the campus, in the Feb. 28 issue of The Roundup. We are all aware of the many problems and difficulties that exist right now, but I feel the general tone was overly negative and mean-spirited.
Board of trustees election signs removed:

College officials contacted the candidate the previous day and asked that he remove the signs.
Free HPV vaccines free for 18 and younger
As school begins, female students under the age of 18 have another chance to protect themselves against four types of Human Papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted disease. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recently licensed a new HPV vaccine that is highly recommended for women ages 11 to 26.
Astronomy sets to reach for the stars
Stars, galaxies, meteoroids and jet propulsion all sound like lingo from a “Star Wars” movie, but what do these terms have to do with Pierce College? The Pierce College Astronomy Society (PCAS,) is open to all students and community members who want to learn more about these words.
The writing’s on the stalls
“Always keep your head up. Take a risk and get your heart broken. Love if they love you the same. If not, let go and don’t look back. Be proud of yourself everyday.” This was one of the many inspiring messages written on the stall of one women’s restroom at Pierce College.

‘Amazing Grace’ offers message of hope
Millions of slaves being traded as cargo in inhumane conditions is finally is being put to an end. “Amazing Grace” is situated around the abolition of the slave trade and is centered on main character William Wilberforce (played by Ioan Gruffudd), an abolitionist who campaigned to put an end to slave trading.
