Baseball barely gets by Citrus

 

Despite losing an early lead, the Pierce College baseball team beat the Citrus Owls 4-3 in 10 innings yesterday.

Fernando Gallegos delivered the walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th innning, after being set up by a pair of Citrus errors.

Ryan Santhon started on the mound for the Brahmas, going a full 9 innings while giving up 9 hits, no walks, 3 runs (2 earned) and notching 7strikouts.

The Brahmas jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Travis Forbes scored on a throwing error, and Giovanni Mazollla knocked in a pair with an RBI double.

The Owls managed a run in the eighth after a Justin Fredlander error, and tacked on another in the ninth to send the game to extra innings.
