Few students know that Pierce has a short-course meter swimming pool where adults of all ages who love to swim gather for a splash of fun. Everyday you can find the Southwest Aquatic Masters swim team practicing in rain or shine with coach, Fred Shaw, a three-time NCAA Division I Championship Team member for USC, with 20 years experience in Masters Swimming.

A ditzy blonde? It’s sure better than a dumb brunette
“How many blondes does it take to screw in a light bulb?” “Why did the blonde cross the road?” Over the years I’ve heard them all but it still doesn’t cease to amaze me how many people still humor themselves when they approach me with yet another blonde joke (as though I haven’t heard “that one” before) comically insulting my very intelligence.
Campus technology program aids environment
You probably wouldn’t know it just by passing through the bustling hallways as often as you do, but not only is Pierce a renowned agricultural school, but a science school as well. Another thing you may find surprising is that Pierce has their own laboratory that is used to assist in crucial environmental problems, thanks to the Center for Environmental Technology, which works with the government to test new technologies that aid in treating such issues.

Mix of ‘Black Holes and Revelations’ worth the $$
If you’re into an eclectic mix of drums, guitar, politics and piano then spending nearly twenty bucks on Muse’s new album “Black Holes and Revelations,” is worth every cent. Their sixth and possibly most bitter album yet is finally completed with lyrics such as “Corrupt, you’re corrupt” and “You’ll burn in hell,” but you’d never notice it by all the appealing and melodic art taking your attention away from the resentful libretto.

Text building program aids deaf students
Since its founding in 1947, Pierce College has become an institution for nearly 19,000 students a year who are enrolled in over 100 different disciplines.
