Men’s Volleyball serves up seventh straight win
Pierce College’s men’s volleyball team ended inter-conference play last night by beating Golden West College in four games. They are currently 7-0 for the season.
Starting the season off right
The Pierce College men’s volleyball team ended it’s three-year losing streak against Orange Coast College last night with a 3-0 victory.
Number-one-in-state Brahmas extend home streak
Holding the number one spot in California, the women’s volleyball team scored the 57th victory of their home game-winning streak against Glendale Community College.
Volleyball scholarships
Three women’s volleyball players have been awarded scholarships: Ashley Lugo-Brown, Terra Henn and Jenna Novelli. Lugo-Brown will be attending Cal State Long Beach in the fall, Novelli is already attending Truman State University in Missouri and Henn is deciding between scholarships to Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Chico, University of Louisiana and Wayland Baptist in Texas.
Men’s Volleyball looks forward to successful season
With almost the whole season ahead of them, the men’s volleyball team is confident that they will finish with a very satisfying record. The new season for volleyball began two weeks ago with a starting record of 3-2. The team believes it will improve on that tremendously, despite their young players.
Avoiding the ‘easy left,’ she takes the hard right
When Bea Ramos was seven years old she picked up her first volleyball in her hometown of Davao in the Philippines and fell in love with the game. What she didn’t know was that 12 years later she would be playing as a defensive specialist for the Pierce College Brahmas and would place second in Western State Conference Championship, the highest finish in Pierce’s history of women’s volleyball.
Brahmas 2nd place in state finals is more win than loss
The Brahmas’ women’s volleyball team went all the way to the state finals in Fresno last weekend before losing to Orange Coast College in the championship match. “It was the best season ever and we had fun,” said Bea Ramos. This marked the first time in school history that the women’s volleyball team advanced to the championship.
Volleyball prepares for regionals
As they head off another home game on the evening of Nov. 10, the crowd awaited to see an intense game that held everyone to their seats. This wasn’t just another game but the girls’ volleyball team takes their team effort very seriously. They don’t win by luck, but rather by being each other’s support.
