There are over 65,000 undocumented students who graduate from high schools across the nation every year. Although many of them have been in the United States most of their lifetime, they do not receive the same benefits of higher education that citizens do.

For honors student Vaughan Gendelman, 29, anthropology major, the Honors Program is the conduit toward his point of destination. “I’m glad there’s an Honors Program,” said Gendelman. “It’s a nice way to ensure that I get into UCLA.” Having learned about the program from a friend last year, Gendelman is confident that he is prepared to forge ahead and ready to face new challenges along with his peers in the program.

A rough physical away game against Santa Monica College ended in a disappointing 0-0 draw for Pierce College’s Women’s soccer team on October 2, 2007. Pierce had many chances to win the game with 22 shots on goal but was unable to hit the back of the net.
