Baha’i Faith Club, Christian Club and Helping Hands Club? What do the names mean to you? To me they mean places where one can go and share their thoughts and beliefs with others. Or a place where you can lend a helping hand to those in need. These are a few of the clubs on campus that many students may not be familiar with.
“James and the Giant Peach,” written by Roald Dahl, is the next big play directed by RosZa Horvath. The play is about James Trotter who once had a happy life, but that soon changed after his parents were killed by a rhinoceros. Two swim records were broken and set Friday by the women’s swim team in the medley relay and backstroke. Jessica Chan, Christina Courtney, Paloma Slezak and Alexandra “Xan” Rodgers broke a more than 20-year-old record for the 200-yard Medley relay by almost a second.
The Pierce College men’s volleyball team won 15-13 in the fifth set of Friday night’s game against the Orange Coast College Pirates in the first home game of the season. The game was kept close by the Pirates who are traditionally good and “always have a lot of talent on their team,” according to Pierce’s head coach Adam Black.
Pierce College had one of the highest enrollment figures for Spring 2006 out of the nine Los Angeles Community College District campuses and has grown the most in enrollment compared to the previous spring. Classes opened Feb. 6 with 329 more students enrolled than in Spring 2005, making Pierce the only L.
