Growing with experience

While our campus undergoes a methodical transformation, it's only fitting that the Brahmas' baseball team has followed suit. Last year's team saw four players drafted by Major League ball clubs: Dan Berlind (Minnesota Twins), David Fonseca (Milwaukee Brewers), Dan Heller (Baltimore Orioles) and Travis Turek (Cleveland Indians).

Swimmers’ Secret Weapon: Training

"To left to left, to right to left to left, One, Ready go!" yelled out Judith Terhar, assistant coach for Pierce College swimming team. The swimmers' hands, raised in formation, line the pool. Head coach Fred Shaw explained that their techniques are a different aspect of training, part of it which teaches people to stroke efficiently and strongly so they can go their fastest.

Backing athletics with brownies

FANS in the Stands, organized by Barbara Anderson, professor and chair of speech and communication, is letting faculty at Pierce College know that attending sports events at Pierce can get them a taste of her homemade brownies. Anderson explained the importance of encouraging others to attend the sports events.

Season wrap for men’s basketball

The season has ended for the Pierce College men's basketball team as they step off the court with two wins out of a total of 24 games. Despite winning their last game, which was against Cuesta College on Saturday, the team has not qualified to proceed on to the regional finals that will continue through March.

Men’s Volleyball looks forward to successful season

With almost the whole season ahead of them, the men's volleyball team is confident that they will finish with a very satisfying record. The new season for volleyball began two weeks ago with a starting record of 3-2. The team believes it will improve on that tremendously, despite their young players.
