New Colors Could Be In Order
The Pierce College Council met on Thursday to address potential beautification efforts on campus as well as discuss several school-related issues. Some members of the council, made up mostly of administrators and faculty members, suggested that the school’s current arrangement of buildings and their colors may not be as welcoming to students as they would like.

The Pierce College Council met on October 25 to discuss multiple topics concerning the campus and its students sociability. Among the variety of issues discussed in the meeting was that of the Sasaki Associates coming to Pierce and figuring out a way to make the campus a more sociable one for students.

Christopher Howell AIDS/HIV 1-1-1-1 HIV infection is at an all-time high, Dr. William Schwartzman explained Oct. 24 to an audience of students and non-students at a seminar entitled “HIV/AIDS: Progress and Challenges.” Although people with HIV/AIDS can now live with the disease, Schwartzman said infection rates continue to rise, especially in third world countries like those of sub-Saharan Africa.
Academic Senate working on making Pierce smoke-free
College Services Conference Room – During the Pierce College Academic Senate meeting on Oct 22, members of the senate discussed to enforce a new law that would enforce smoking on campus. The Academic Senate is proposing a new regulation that would either strictly enforce smokers on campus or a citation.
