26 Years and Still Going Strong
Barbara Heller found her secretarial job at Pierce when she was driving by after not long after her husband was transferred to Los Angeles from New York in 1981. She pulled into the campus to find out if there was any chance they needed a secretary. When she couldn’t find the offices on the sprawling campus, she stopped someone and asked for directions.

As the media keep me updated on the latest developments in the story, I start to wonder how long the trial will last.

As college students, most of our time is spent on the Internet. Whether doing homework, shopping or checking MySpace, much of your information is stored online. But be careful to whom you hand out information; it could be a scam known as “phishing.” Internet phishing is a trick where people send out bogus e-mails trying to get personal and credit information.

Imagine a room on campus where there are dozens of computers that will actually print those assignments that are due in ten minutes. Envision this room, filled with trained staff eager to teach extremely necessary and specific information in a clear and concise manner, at no cost, on the student’s schedule.

Usually the only way that students could commend or complain about an instructor was through the formal paper teacher evaluations that get passed out at the end of every semester. Now, however, students are turning to a popular ratings Web site, RateMyProfessor.
Composer ‘conducts’ opera overview
For the second presentation of the Fall 2007 Professors’ Lecture series, presented by ENCORE, an adult education program. Maestro James Domine took to the stage and conducted an exciting lesson on the subject “The Development of Opera” to a capacity crowd Thursday.
Cost of health comes cheap for students
While many students may think that the health fee tacked onto the cost of registration merely covers headaches and paper cuts, they may be surprised to know that their $11 health fee includes access to a full staff of personal counselors. By utilizing both the Student Health Center and the personal counselors in the Counselor’s Office, students can receive expert counseling advice at no additional cost, thanks to the health fee that is already paid for every semester.
