The air erupts with electricity. Shouts echo from every direction, machine gunfire drowning out any hope of understanding them. Bolts of plasma cut through line of trees ahead, leaving scorch marks in their wake. The enemy is within sight. I see their alien eyes widen with surprise and just as I raise my weapon to pull the trigger- The phone rings and I’m forced to press pause.

Valley, Citrus shutout
The sun couldn’t have been brighter for the Pierce College Women’s soccer team on Sept. 25. The Brahmas hosted Valley College at The Pit and dismissed them with a 6-0 shut out win to start the Western State Conference tournament. “It was the best game of the year,” said Brahma coach Adolfo Perez of his team’s 10th game of the 2007 season.
Finally Extinct
The third installment of Resident Evil has finally come and in all honesty, it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. The successful video game franchise deals with one thing only: Survival Horror. In every sense, this genre has propelled the series to its current stature in the film industry.
Two hour power outage hits campus
You never think about how important electricity is until it’s not there. Several minutes after 8 a.m. Sept. 26, students, faculty and staff thought about electricity on campus… there wasn’t any. Pierce College President Robert Garber said that it was a Department of Water and Power (DWP) problem.
Halloween Harvest howls into town
This weekend, Pierce College was proud to welcome back its annual Halloween Harvest Festival. The wildly popular event, which opened Friday, is located at the corner of De Soto Avenue and Victory Boulevard for the next five weeks, and all are welcome to join in the festivities.

SHERIFF’S BLOTTER Twisted-On September 11th, a soccer player hurt his ankle and was transported by the fire department to the hospital. Touchy-A student threatened another student for taking his parking spot in Lot 1. Tired-An employee in the 0100 building began to feel ill and fainted on September 12th.
$$Pierce breaks out the Citrus
Pierce College pummeled Citrus College 3-0 at Women’s Soccer on last Thursday’s game at 2:45 pm. The Pierce soccer team had worked well together to win the match. Working in a team effort, their attack and defense was very balanced throughout the game. “We had a balanced attack [and] very good defense,” said Adolfo Perez, coach of the Pierce Women’s Soccer team.
$$Brahmas defeat Corsairs by narrow margin
The Pierce College Football team continues to have a positive beat when it comes to team work. After starting the season with 2 straight wins, then later losing the next two, the Brahmas entered their fifth needing a win in order to stay alive in the Western State Conference.
