Mission College versus Pierce College
This is a test for a Quicktime movie about a baseball game between Pierce College and Mision College.
Just my luck
The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) is like Las Vegas and life: it’s a game of luck. You can win the million-dollar prize with the first pull of the slot machine, meet your soul mate in your dream job or get on an empty bus where you have the option of seating yourself as you please.
Women’s soccer set to defend title
Hopes are high for the Pierce College women’s soccer team as they look to defend their Western State Conference (WSC) division champion status. The Brahmas were easily the top team in their division with a commendable record of 15-5-3 (wins-loss-draw). Not only did they end the season as WSC division champions but also advanced to the Southern California regional playoffs for the sixth year in a row and earning themselves the 5th seed in the process.
Underground appreciation is ‘So Real’
People seem to be obsessed with the idea of finding an underground artist or a musician only they know about. Mine is Jeff Buckley. Many publications have considered Buckley’s sorrowing howls to be one of the best. His voice can easily retain its own along with the likes of Kurt Cobain, Leonard Cohen and Van Morrison.
‘Shrek’ success threepeated

As the teacher begins her speech, the classmate beside you turns on his laptop and begins clicking away at the keyboard. With frustration and curiosity, you look over to the screen to see a neighbor typing down the teacher’s words but twice as fast as you can scrawl.
Needing, wanting a liquid energy fix
The reflection watching me shook with trepidation. A nervous twitch shot through his eye, a quiver across his lip, a tremor through his clenched fists. Panic fogged the glass between us. His gaze was relentless. As we squared off, my inner child writhed with desire, compelling me to proceed.
Botanical garden to be finished by fall
Since its official opening in October 2003, the Botanical Garden at Pierce College became a refreshing area of colorful and fascinating plant wildlife, with benches offering heavenly repose amid sweet-smelling flowers, a trickling fountain and a small pond.
Students to get more money for textbooks this time around
Pierce College Academic Senate met May 14 to discuss various issues, among which the report by Associated Students Organization (ASO) president Abraham White was the highlight, obtaining the applause of those present. After discussing routine issues, Academic Senate president Tom Rosdahl introduced White, who talked measures that would save students thousands of dollars in textbook prices.
