Fullerton makes it three in a row for football team

The lack of solid offensive plays caused the Brahmas’ football team to lose the game in their visit to the Fullerton Hornets on Saturday.

The final score of 28-7 gave the Brahmas their third loss in a row; they are now 0-3 for the season.

Numerous penalties and Hornets’ ability to get to the end zone every time Pierce gained some momentum was the main reason for this new defeat.

“This loss is a tune up. We just need to go back to fundamentals, and get some scores on the board.” said assistant coach Jason Sabolic.

Late in the second quarter down 0-14, Pierce was able to get back in the game with Gregory Wanamaker’s first touchdown of the season to put the game 7-14 Hornets.

Fullerton immediately crushed the Brahmas’ hopes for a comeback with a 70-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

The game didn’t get any better for Pierce College, as the Hornets would score another touchdown during the second quarter making the final score.

Even with the loss, the Brahmas do have something positive to take into next Saturday’s game against Long Beach which is their strong defensive play that did not allow a single score from the opposing team during the second half.

“Its a long season and we have still have seven games left to fix our mistakes, catch up and reach our ultimate goal.” said Sabolic.
