Men and women’s swim place fifth on day one

On day one of the Western State Conference Swimming Championships at Hancock College the swim team finished in fifth place in both the men and women’s rankings.

Ten schools participate in the three-day event that culminates on Saturday.

Santa Barbara dominated the women’s competition on the first day. They scored a total of 242 points. Ventura scored 269.50 for the men.

The Brahmas got a total of 96 points in the female ranking while their counterparts collected 133.
