BRIEF: New coaches announced

Three new head coaches have officially been named heading into the start of the fall semester.

Edison Zhou, a member of the 2008 Chinese olympic team, takes the reigns of the women’s volleyball program.

New men’s basketball head coach Casey Weitzel comes from Azusa Pacific University, where he served as an assistant since the 2014-15 season. Former head coach Charles White will stay on as the associate head coach, according to Athletic Director Moriah Van Norman.

Completing the trifecta is women’s basketball coach Michelle Chevelier, who previously coached at Sylmar High School.

Zhou, Weitzel and Chevelier join football’s Carlos Woods as four new head coaches for fall and winter sports.
