The art department at Pierce College will be presenting its Annual Winter Arts Festival on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Art Gallery’s patio.

“It’s a great opportunity to see what the ceramics classes are up to and to do gift shopping early,” said Gallery Director Mary Oliver.

The ceramic department will be featuring its ceramic and chili bowl sale at the festival where visitors can buy a chili bowl, handmade by Pierce students, filled with chili.

The festival’s artist marketplace will also have pieces of art to buy and will feature glass artists and various craft artists.

In the Art Gallery, the Faculty Art Exhibit will be on view for visitors.

Continental Art Supply will provide demonstrations of bookbinding, silk painting, sculpting clay and other items.

All ages are welcome, said Oliver.

Along with attractions for adults, children will be able to participate in a storytelling corner and workshops such as making ceramics on a pottery wheel.

Coffee, tea, cookies and cake will be provided by Mad Potter’s Tea and Coffee Bar along with hot dogs and soda available for purchase.

Admission to the festival and parking that day are free. Visitors should park in Lot 6 for the event.
