Jobs 4U 2day

Anyone undecided on a major or just looking for information about different careers may want to attend the free career exploration workshop today from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in room 1604.

Whether a student is transferring, working toward an A.A. or unsure of the future, the workshop is built to help get them on the right track.

“It will give information about different careers and majors and help you find out which careers match your personality,” explained Claudia Ramirez-Yaglian, a counselor at Pierce and the leader of the workshop.

Once a student knows what careers are best suited to them, they can further explore the majors that match that career and the current job description and salary for that profession.

There will be information on job searching techniques and strategies as well as writing a resume and interviewing.

For students planning to transfer to a four-year university, information about which majors are offered at U.C.s and CSUs will be provided along with facts about financial aid and more than 7,000 available scholarships.

Those who wish to attend must have a valid e-mail address since the workshop will involve hands-on learning through a career searching internet program that will be provided free of charge.
