Pierce College welcomes Patrick Rauber as the new Library Science Teacher for the Fall semester 2007.

He will be joining the staff of the library as an additional librarian.

He is one of many new teachers and faculty to accompany the existing faculty.

In with the new. Here is the Fall Semester again. So that means new friends, new classes, and new teachers. Pierce college gained an additional librarian this semester, Patrick Rauber. So what does Rauber do?

Some of Rauber’s daily tasks will include: answering reference questions, print recourses, and simply helping students search the library’s catalog. These are some of the essential most needs to the college student. There are many things a student can acquire in the library just by asking a question.

He was previously a librarian at LMU and at UCLA. So this isn’t new to Rauber. Well maybe the campus. New teachers just like new students have to adjust to the new environment. Rauber said that working on the Pierce College campus was,

“Very humbling. I love it.”

He stated that the students are,

“friendly and motivated, which is exciting.”

Florence Robin the Library Department Chair described Rauber as,

“Helpful, friendly and approachable. He is educated and has a sense of humor.”

So students even faculty should feel encouraged to ask questions while in the library, because Rauber could be of assistance. There is nothing better than someone than having someone help out that actually wants to. And if he cannot answer all the questions Rauber says he could,

“Help someone find the answer because your always learning something new yourself.”
