Pierce finally falls
A heartbreaking late goal separated what was a close match between Pierce College’s women’s soccer team and Cypress College as they lost 2-1 in the first round of Regionals on Nov.17 at the Pit. The result was tough on the Brahmas as the match was fairly even with both sides sharing possession and vying for a winning goal all the way until the final whistle.

A test in the sands of time, “Love in the Time of Cholera” is a movie about just how long love can last between two individuals event as events conspire against them. Set in late 19th century Colombia, movie begins with Florentino Ariza (Javier Bardem) and Fermina Daza (Giovanna Mezzogiorno) falling in love with each other at an early age.

Opened in July, the center provides staff and faculty, both part-time and full-time, a place to complete classroom preparations, hang out with other faculty members or just enjoy some peace, quiet and popcorn.

The sterile room is quiet with blue chairs lining the walls and anxious students looking over papers. Above them, a poster hangs with the quote “You measure the size of accomplishments by the obstacles you had to overcome to reach your goals.” This is the waiting room for the counseling office and where most Pierce College students begin their long journey to graduation.
