In a recent environmental project, Pierce College students took the bull by the, uh, tail and used animal waste (manure) bound with green waste (grass clippings) to produce a useful solid product that yields certain environmental benefits. Cranky customers, cool it
The holidays are coming up once again. That means sales, shopping and most of all cranky customers. For those who work in the customer service field, whether food or retail, you know exactly what I am referring to. For some odd reason, customers tend to be crankier, rather than nicer, during this time of year.
La vidá loca no más, no more crazy life
No one would dare cross the path of Raul Morales 12 years ago. If you saw the 6-foot, 5-inch, tattooed man then, you’d have known instantly you wouldn’t want to mess with him. Sweet dreams for Desdemona
Shakespearian plays of old are twisted into a laughing frenzy in “Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet),” a tasteful comedic play that mixes Shakespeare with Lewis Carroll. Created by Canadian playwright Ann-Marie MacDonald, “Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet)” tells the tale of Constance Ledbelly (played by Jonica Patella), an assistant English professor whose obsession lies in the works of William Shakespeare-more specifically “Othello” and “Romeo and Juliet.
Calling all students and faculty
The Community College Initiative, Proposition 92, will appear on the Feb. 5 ballot. The main benefits to community colleges under Proposition 92 are that it not only lowers and stabilizes fees, but also separates community colleges from the all-too-frequent budget battles between the Democrats and Republicans.
Fall ’07 term:
As the semester is drawing to a close, it seems that the theme at Pierce College this fall was “improvement.” One way this is evident is in the expansive construction projects that were finished, or started, this semester. Things began in September with the grand opening of the S.
