This weekend Pierce College was proud to welcome back their annual Halloween Harvest Festival. This wildly popular event opened on Friday, September 29. It’s located at the corner of De Soto Avenue and Victory Blvd. for the next five weeks and everyone is invited.

The small wide receiver doesn’t allow his height to be a disadvantage. The 5-foot-10-inch freshman never caught a pass in high school, yet in his first four games for Pierce College, he has 4 touchdowns placing him in the top 5 in the Western State Conference.
The Halloween Festival Finally Arrives

At the corner of De Soto and Victory for the next five weeks and everyone is invited. Preparations for this fest seem to be going right on schedule, according Linda Carberry, the school’s farm center manager.
With Open Arms
Jewish club Bianca Lopez 1-1-1-1 The HILLEL Jewish Club has open arms to anyone who wants to join in their year around events. HILLEL had a kick off free Kosher BBQ Thursday with tropical drinks and a “rockin’ hula contest.” Andrew Schwartz, part of the Jewish Campus Services Corps Fellow, said he is looking forward to the outcome of students who join this semester.
Brahmas taken down by Glendale
Pierce College, like the weather on Saturday, had its ‘hots and colds,’ finishing cold. The Brahmas lost to Glendale College in front of a crowd of more than 400 people, 34-14. “Right now, they’re a better team,” said Pierce coach Efrain Martinez. At the end of the first quarter, the Brahmas were down 7-0.
Swimming laps and filling gaps
A ‘Swim to Support Pierce Pool’ fund-raiser Oct. 21 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. will be hosted by the Friends of Pierce Pool at the college pool. The funds will specifically be used for the maintenance of the pool, which, according to Friends of Pierce Pool’s mission statement is a valuable asset to the college and surrounding community.
The philosophy of Wood
Pierce philosophy teacher Mia Wood recently gained a permanent position as a full-time assistant professor this fall semester. Wood, who has been at Pierce for four years as an adjunct instructor, has worked at several higher education institutions including Mission College, Pepperdine University and Woodbury University.
The dean who ‘Rose’ to the occasion
If you know a lot about fishing, football or any good books, Jacquinita Rose, new Dean of Academic Affairs, welcomes you to her office. Rose, or “J.R.” as members of the administration calls her, brings an optimistic personal philosophy to the schools of math, science, business and nursing, and a life story to show for it.
Good Luck Won’t Save Chuck

Even such, it pulled in $14 million on its opening weekend with laughs that makes our jaws hurt. Dane Cook plays Charlie, a dentist who wants to build a steady relationship with Cam (Jessica Alba) who seems to be cursed too because of the relentless idiotic accidents that took place; made sharp objects stick on the dentist back, electrifying Charlie while jumping her car, and having hit a pole in the middle of the street.

High-energy, culturally aware, and overtly militant, M.I.A.’s second album, “Kala,” adds a new dynamic to her already powerful work.
