Note to students: Thanks

Jocelyn Chan

Dear Pierce College Students,

I am Jocelyn Chan, your newly elected ASO Treasurer for the 2008-09 year. When I joined ASO, I knew I wanted to be an active senator and do something for the students. Running for treasurer was the perfect opportunity for me to achieve that.

The job of being treasurer is more than just a clerical office position, but also an involved role that shoulders the immense responsibility of ensuring that every dollar is conducive to the betterment of student life for the majority of the students.

This election has been such an adventure, and I would never have anticipated that the competition would have elevated to such a level.

From the Winnie the Pooh costumes and “Got Jocelyn?” signs to the hours of strategizing in secrecy and paranoia and sneaking around at midnight to post flyers in the bathrooms, the intense rivalry has brought me many laughs, tears and a plethora of memories.

I want to thank all of my friends and supporters who helped me in my campaign and kept me sane through all the tension, stress and drama. I am proud to have received such overwhelming support from the students, and I confidently look forward to serving you all in the future.

I also want to take the opportunity to encourage all of you to get involved with the school. It is a rewarding experience that will make you increasingly appreciate what this campus has to offer.

Though we are only at Pierce for a short period of time, we can still make a difference.

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please do not hesitate to find me in the ASO office. I will always be there for the students and be ready to hear all of your issues.

Sincerely,

Jocelyn Chan
