Glorious soccer team are back

They are back: The Pierce College glorious women’s soccer team comes back in full force with 6 returners and fourteen new players who are joining the already stirring reputation of the women’s soccer team.

Head coach, Adolfo Perez has been training with these amazing women for 8 years now at Pierce College and is hoping for another great season. This season Coach Perez has chosen 4 captains for this season’s team, he stated that ” he could not make a decision on who should be captain for he picked four and he said “it was probably the best decision I have ever made.

The hard working captains for this semester include of Rocio Abundes, Amanda Bernal, Gabby Gampato and Delian Perea who are very anxious and excited to be captains together.

When asked Abundes, one of the four captains on the women’s team what she was looking or hoping for this upcoming season she said “To get better by state and win another championship at conference”.

They have won 5 conferences in the last seven years and are highly respected in their league among all the Los Angeles Community College districts.

This season the top competitors that the Brahmas will be looking out for and bring it all home will be Cerritos, Cypress and Santiago City College.

” This season is going to be more challenging” says Perez, “especially because of eligibility”.

The eligibility is every important to all sports and athletic teams so they can participate with the team and not get left behind because of grades.

The women’s team practices every day, Monday thru Friday at 3pm, m practices consist of running laps, stretching and doing various workouts together as a team.

They don’t leave anyone behind and do practice and play as if they are one.

Most of the soccer games are played Tuesday and Friday, but when there are not any games you can see the ladies out on the felid busting their butts and getting ready for the next game.

Remember games times can be found online or stop by the athletic office ask. Make sure you come a support these wonderful ladies and come show your school pride!!
