The Punisher: War Zone turned out to be an exciting, action packed movie which is based on the comic book The movie is starring, Ray Stevenson (Frank Castle), known as the Punisher, Dominic West (Billy Rusotto), a mob boss who becomes known as Jigsaw because of his disfigured face, after an industrial accident occurs, Julie Benz who is known as a wife of an undercover FBI agent, and also Doug Hutchison (Jimmy), who is Jigsaw’s psycho brother. A man known as the Punisher gets attacked by Jigsaw who is a mob boss, and tries to defend himself and his city. The Punisher accidentally kills an undercover FBI agent in his attempt to stop a crime family in his tracks. Now it is up to the Punisher to protect the undercover FBI agent’s family and he has to go against Jigsaw and his crew. The Punisher is reminded of his memories of his family everyday who died while they were at a picnic together. They were killed by a mob family and since that day, the Punisher swore to himself that he would try to take down every crime family in New York City. The Punisher: War Zone is completely different from the first Punisher movie, it is basically a remake of it. The amount of action would be one of the differences between the two. The first one had more drama to it, but this is still based on the comic book but the story line is not exactly the same. The acting done by Ray Stevenson was not that great, it could have been a little better. Billy Rusotto played an excellent mob boss, the disfigured face gave him a more evil look which suited him in the movie. Julie Benz gave the movie a little drama which was appreciated throughout some parts of the movie. On the other hand, Doug Hutchison which was a psycho and also brother to the Jigsaw helps out in the crime in the movie. His acting also could have been done with more energy and it felt to be mediocre. The film is filled with action and gore which might not be appropriate for kids under the age of 17. The Punisher is a extremely crazy movie because every scene has to do with some kind of action such as heads blowing off, blood splattering, people getting killed or suffering. Depending the type of gore you can handle predicts if this movie should be seen or not. But if your looking for a movie with nothing but action packed, this is the movie to see. Overall the movie was not exactly the best movie but should be seen sometime. The grade for this movie would be a B- or C+. The action might have been too much but it also may be sought out to be waited for to come out on DVD.
