A make over is in store for the Pierce College online orientation program, due to receive an update next year that will make the site more user-friendly and accessible. The new online orientation program will include student testimonials regarding classes and campus life, but the most important upgrade will be accessibility by hearing or visually impaired students, an addition made in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Child airlifted off Pierce campus
A child was airlifted out of Pierce College after a Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter landed on the soccer field around 7:15 p.m. While the age and condition of the child was unavailable, Officer Morales of the Pierce Sheriff’s Office said the incident was unrelated to Pierce.

When Marv Dunphy steps onto the floor at Firestone Fieldhouse to begin his 26th season at the helm of the Pepperdine University Waves men’s volleyball team, it will be just another day at the office-at least to him. Dunphy will have held practice with his latest squad, will have gotten re-acquainted with his returners, and will have gotten to know his new recruits, just like all of his opposing coaches.

The women’s volleyball team began their season with a 3-0 victory in tonight’s match against San Bernardino, picking up last season’s flag after winning last year’s Western State Conference. The team won the first set, 25-11; the second set, 25-20; and the third set, 25-14.
