Pierce film festival

“Change We Need”, is the theme for Pierce’s 2009 Film Festival.

The film fest; hosted by the Diversity committee and ASO, will take place on November 2-5. A series of politically oriented documentaries will be shown.

The documentaries that are scheduled to be showcased are: “Food Inc.”, “No End In Sight”, “Religulous”, “Outrage” and “10 Questions for the Dalai Lama.”

“10 Questions for the Dalai Lama” and “Outrage” can both be viewed on Monday. “10 Questions for the Dalai Lama” will be shown at 9:35 a.m. and “Outrage” at 2 p.m.

On Tuesday, “No End In Sight” will be shown at 2:30 p.m.

“Food Inc.” will be shown at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

And last but not least, “Religulous” will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

There will also be a panel discussion after each one of the films is shown.

In addition to the film festival, there will be an art contest. Art students and photographers are encouraged to participate in the festivities as well.

The theme of “Change We Need” also applies to the art and photography contest.

The artwork and photography that wins the contest will be put up for display at the festival. Prizes will be awarded  to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of the contest.

Prizes could be up to $ 200.
