Several Pierce players have signed Letters of intent to continue their football careers.
The list of players includes Coleman Edmond, Jordan Allred, David Mahoney, Alex Martinez, Ged Carrington, Dominick Baker, Brandon Chandler, Jonathan Ontiveras and Robert Williamson. Former Pierce player Taylor Budd also signed.
Edmond signed with Cal Berkeley. Edmond was the unanimous offensive player of the year for the Pacific Conference of the American Division in the Southern California Football Association (SCFA).
Allred, a unanimous selection for first team offense is already at Kansas State.
Mahoney signed with New Mexico State. Mahoney had 16 tackles with 4.5 sacks on the season. A deciding factor for Mahoney was head coach Dwayne Walker and his staff’s ties to the Los Angeles area.
Mahoney ended up at Pierce after four years at El Camino Real High School.
 “I’m glad I came to Pierce, if I hadn’t I don’t think I’d be heading to a Divison-1 school,” said Mahoney.
Martinez was a first team selection on defense last season. Martinez signed with Western Illinois. Martinez finished with 39 tackles and 4 sacks on the season. Martinez came to Pierce from El Camino Real High School. Martinez chose Western Illinois for the atmosphere.
“The facilities and people are nice, it’s a small college town,” said Martinez.
