Talk show host Siamak Kalhor was in the same position 11 years ago as many of the KPCRadio hosts are in now— taking their first steps into the radio industry.

Today, a well-rounded Kalhor brings experience and knowledge as a KPCR consultant.

In addition to his position of consultant at KPCR, Kalhor hosts two shows at 670 AM KIRN.

One of his shows is about technology, while his other show includes a variety of topics, from music to politics.

Amara Aguilar was introduced to Kalhor by a mutual friend.

Natalie Yemenidjian, program director of KPCR, expressed her feelings about Kalhor and his dedication.

“He’s a really nice guy, who more then anything wants to help students,” she said.

Helping dedicated students like Yemenidjian is exactly what Kalhor hopes to accomplish working with KPCR.

“I do it for the love of students,” he said.

Kalhor also assisted installing and monitoring software for the station.

When he began his career, the quality of software wasn’t as innovative as the software used now.

The software used is called SAM Broadcasting and according to Kalhor the things the program can do are “endless.”

With programs like Ustream Live anyone can stream and virtually have a show.

However not anyone can have a successful show.

“It’s not the pipe, it’s the water,” he said.
