The Life of a Football Player

Arnett Pointer is a 21 year- old Football payer for Pierce College, He appears to be just like all the other players at Pierce except he retains a story of success and power.

He has just moved away from his family in New Jersey about 2 months ago to attend school in California where he is currently partaking in 15 units and Football playing. 

“it’s just how bad you want it, for your future”, said Pointer. 

Other than the everyday stress from school he has his family to worry about all the way across the country. 

“My mom is my hero”, he explained, “she left my father who was a drug addict when i was a child.”

Arnett said he grew up in somewhat condemned houses a high-risk neighborhood most of his life, with his only mother who worked three jobs to keep food on the table. 

“It’s not about how much money you have, it’s about how much passion you do.” stated Arnett. 

“The hardest thing i have ever been through is losing my sister at 13. It changed my life around, it showed me life i just too short”, he said. 

He explained she had passed away from Cardiomyopathy at the early age of 18. 

The passing of his sister gave him the motivation to strive for his goals, he now majors in Marine Biology and plays Football, he spends every weekday at Pierce from 7:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. focusing on his future.  

Arnett plans on possibly transferring to USC in December to win the 4th NFL hisman trophe in his family. 

“In the future Football won’t be life”, responded Arnett Pointer “I’m very interested in the water and how many new species are found daily in the ocean, i can see my future pointing in this direction.  

On the outside, an average Football player but once you look closer you find an amazingly passionate soul with much optimism for the future.
