High school baseball playoffs played at Pierce

Bryan Melara / Roundup

Hundreds of people were in attendance at Joe Kelly Field yesterday afternoon for the second round of the California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section baseball playoffs.

The game between Chaminade College Preparatory and Santa Barbara High School was originally scheduled to take place at Chaminade.

The game was relocated to Pierce at about noon due to a flood that left Chaminade’s field in disarray.

Chaminade is located in West Hills.

According to Chaminade’s Junior Varsity coach Rich Sugiyama arrangements were made with Pierce baseball coach John Bushart to move the game.

Bushart was unavailable for comment.
