Huge topics discussed at PCC Meeting

From the construction seeming endless to a large deficit and a technology-savvy classrooms to sick notes from custodians, the Pierce College Council managed it all.

The rain from the past few weeks drowned the constructions sights and the Mall wont be complete until mid December.

Meanwhile, the County Café won’t begin their demolition until January and will remain open through the end of the semester.

A $228,297 parking deficit ended the 2009/2010-year due to an excessive amount of charges that need to be charged to the Plant Facilities fund instead.

Furthermore, a positive shift for the campus is hoping to be completed within the next two to three years when Pierce becomes “smart.”

The “smart” classrooms and offices will provide better “resources and be technologically oriented so that professors can teach classes and make learning easier and more interactive,” said Bruce Rosky, associative vice president of administrative services.

The last hurdle the council began to confront was the low turnout rate of custodians.  All members agreed to postpone the matter until the next meeting.

The PCC will meet on Nov. 18 in the College Services Building Conference room.
