The campus sheriffs issued a safety alert on campus after a student was allegedly sexually assaulted in Lot 7 on Oct. 28.
A man between 19 and 20 allegedly followed a woman to her car and attempted to touch her inappropriately, according to the safety alert.
The man fled the scene on a BMX type bicycle, according to the safety alert.
A report was filed at the sheriff’s on campus, and the incident is classified as sexual battery, according to Deputy Eric Gibbs.
“We are taking this seriously and trying to prevent this from occurring again,” said Gibbs.
The sheriff’s station is urging students to park close to classes, under light poles and walk with fellow students to and from class.
