Car chase speeds past campus

A car chase ended in arrest Wednesday night after officers from the Los Angeles School Police Department and the Los Angeles Police Department tracked a car from Van Nuys to Sherman Way just north of Pierce College.

The white car, driven by an unidentified adult man, was signaled to pull over by LASPD officers after committing a traffic violation in front of Lemay Elementary in Van Nuys.

The car refused to stop, and police assumed the chase at around 4 p.m.

LAPD officers were called in to take up pursuit of the vehicle as it sped down the major cross streets on the north side of Pierce campus, before the chase ended on Sherman Way and Louise Avenue at about 5 p.m.

Police then arrested the suspect. No injuries were reported.
