In three days of service at Pierce College the new lunch truck Larry’s Hot Lunch has brought new food choices to Pierce College. Students who are by the front of the South Gym will notice the typical looking lunch truck.
The menu varies from the other lunch trucks. They offer a variety of American and Mexican dishes. In three days they have become known for their $5 “Cheeseburger Special”, which includes cheeseburger, fries and a can soda of your choice. Another specialty dish is their nachos, which come with a choice of meat and are topped with smooth guacamole, sour cream, diced tomatoes, onions and cilantro.
The truck is located to the right of the South Gym every week during lunch time. It is a typical white lunch truck with blue sun visors above the front windshield. There is a built in ice chest cooling the scattered drinks. The fruits and pastries sit to the left of the ice chest.
What sets them apart is their specialty orders.
“We make it the way you want it,” said Alba Hernandez sister of owner Daysi Corleto.
The ambience is friendly. The orders are made to the customer’s wishes. The workers are friendly and willing to make special orders.
“They have really good supreme nachos,” said Kennia Ealacios, nursing major.
