At first sight T’s Hot Sauce truck is like many other food trucks, but unlike most trucks they place umbrellas so that the students of Pierce College can keep cool while they wait for their food.
T’s is conveniently located in front of the Student Services Building. Their menu offers a variety of dishes ranging from the classic cheese burger to a bowl of chili.
Owner Tony Thomas has been cooking his special chili at Pierce since January of this year.
To the right of the register one will notice T’s award for “Best Booth” from the 29th annual Malibu Kiwanis Chili Cook Off. The service is friendly and the truck also accepts debit cards.
Their $5 Tri Tip Chili Bowl comes with chips, beans, shredded American cheese, and is topped with sour cream and diced onions. Along with the soft, juicy, melt in your mouth meat, the shredded cheese and beans adds more flavor to the bowl than you expect. But be warned, one might be left wanting more chips.
The $5 Tri Tip Burrito lacks the flavor of the bowl, but will still fill your stomach. The combination of the meat, beans, cheese, fresh onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers all work well together.
If not fully convinced, adding T’s Hot Sauce will do the trick. The hot sauce, which helps kick up the flavor starts off with a kick, but slowly fades away.
T’s truck is on campus all week. Monday through Thrusday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Fridays from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
When ordering at T’s one will feel like it’s just business. The food operators are friendly, but people just want to ge their food and leave.
