The Pierce College baseball team ended their three game losing streak with a win over El Camino College on Saturday.
The offense began hot and scored all of their 12 runs in the first three innings. The Brahmas opened up the scoring in the first inning after shortstop Michael Hymes drove in first basemen Alex Sawleson who singled earlier in the inning.
Right fielder Nick Murphy played a big role in the Brahmas win with his team leading three RBI’s .
Pierce scored the majority of their runs in the second and third innings. The Brahmas scored 11 runs on eight hits within the two innings. They received help from the five defensive errors that the Warriors committed in second inning.
Starting pitcher Bobby Schauer picked up the win after he put in six innings of work with four strikeouts.
Although the Warriors would respond with two consecutive innings of scoring two runs and three runs in the sixth inning, but it was not enough for them to come away with the win. They ended the night with seven errors which were mostly by their shortstop and first basemen.
The Brahmas will be hoping to build upon this win as they prepare to face Santa Ana College Dons on Tuesday at home. The game is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
