The Pierce College woman’s water polo team defeated Santa Monica on the roard Wednesday Oct. 16 with the final score being 13-4, improving their conference record to an undefeated 3-0.
Pierce is currently on a seven game win-streak including wins from the season and is currently in first place in its conference.
The water polo match was dominated by Pierce’s offensive persistence from sophomore Sara Booth in the set position and freshman Blake Strigger in the attacker position.
“The girls played pretty well today, although it wasn’t that excited of a game we got the job done,” Sarah Van Norman, head coach for Pierce, said. “We’re now 3-0 in conference, undefeated.”
Assistant coach Judi Terhar was also proud of her team’s performance noting the offensive diligence of Strigger and Booth.
The woman’s water polo team has only suffered from one loss the entire season which came in Sept. against Golden West College.
The next woman’s water polo match for Pierce College will be set at home against Cuesta College from San Luis Obispo, Thursday Oct. 24.
